Bunny bookmarks for Easter!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

What do you think I'm going to talk to you about today? Bunnies of course! I'm a big bunny lover so I can't miss the bunny party.

Put my colors out...

... and made some bunny bookmarks (that are not specific "Easter" themed, just random whimsical bunnies).

I remind you today is the last day of my Easter Sale with coupon code EASTER2013 for 15% off my Etsy shop (it works for all items not only the knitting patterns).

To finish this short Easter post, a picture of a bunny in a book (my copy of The Submission by Amy Waldman is not for sale even if I can only recommend you this great book).

Friday randomness (on Thursday) #7.

I know it's Thursday and I'm a day early but there's a long four days weekend coming and as usual Easter weekend is a busy one.

yoke and bust knitting of a cotton acrylic short sleeved sweater WIP
1. WIP #1. I casted on a summer top about a week ago. This is going to be my first "sweater" pattern. It doesn't look like much so far, it's going to be a top down one piece garnment. Less than 2 inches to go in the easy stockinette part then comes shaping and more complicated stuff. Yarn is Lammy Yarns Corrida, a fingering weight 60% cotton / 40% acrylic blend, perfectly light for the summer. Just need to wait for warm weather...

katia jaipur shawlette WIP
2. WIP #2. I must confess I'm a bit tired of this chocolate brown yarn. It's not so much my kind of color. It will however be nice to wear and it was a present in the first place. But I've decided to take a break from it:  this weekend I'm going to work on a lace shawl. I did all the math based on the PI formula. Remember the yarn? It's the one I told you about last week. There's actually the blue one but also a ball of contrasting color for the lacy stipes. I love how the colors blend in each others.

3. Painting. Sometimes I like to put the needles down and pick up my brushes (however I knit a lot more than I paint or draw). Of course as a big bunny and yarn lover... well here's the result.

Friendship square exchange.

One of the first groups I took part in when I joined Ravelry almost 3 years ago (yes, time is flying by...) was the Friendship Square Exchange group.

Each month, we swap a 6x6" (15x15cm) knitted or crocheted square. And each month we have a different theme. You can swap every month or only when you are inspired. I haven't missed a single month yet, even if some months are more inspiring than others I have always come up with something! This also means I have a lot of squares in my box right now (some generous swappers even send a bonus square). I should really really really consider a sewing session soon (I hate the "sewing" part going with knitting and crochet) and show off all the wonderful squares I received. I love this swap and postage remains reasonable even when mailing international which is most often the case as I live in France.

In March I received a lovely flowery square from Liontigerbear (March theme was Sender's Favorite).

April theme is "Pocket square". I have already made my square ahead of time. The square is a basic circular double crochet block, the pocket a half circle made in double crochet too (I love double crochet).

In the pocket is hiding a little cutie.

Want to swap too? You are welcome. And it's still time to sign up for April

Pear with a bite socks knitting pattern.

woman socks knitting pattern with colorwork pear and textured foot
Recently I've been in the mood to knit socks, lots of socks. This means another pattern from the fruity socks collection is already up. After lacy socks and textured socks it's time for a little colorwork.

This pair has a band of stranded colorwork (no more than 2 colors in a row) on the leg and a textured foot. Playing with 2 different needle sizes you won't have to bother with stitch count and stretchiness.

I’m sure you’ll love to wear these fun pear with a bite socks too.

You can get your copy of the pattern right here for $5:

And now the technical info...

Friday randomness #6.

This week I have a bunch of yarn eye candies for you...
hand dyed berroco comfort sock brightly colored by quo vadis yarns

1. Yarn in the mailbox #1. My order from Heidi's shop arrived from Canada. The colors look so vibrant! I love that yarn. I'm always happily surprised with mail from Canada: parcels arrive twice faster than from the US. I don't think there's really a reason to that as the distance is the same. But for the impatient customer it's fantastic!!!

lace weight cotton yarn in variegated blue colors four balls

2. Yarn in the mailbox #2. My best friend wants to convert me to lace weight yarn knitting. She doesn't knit herself. But she's amazed by yarn that thin. So she sent me some Katia Jaipur knowing that I won't be able to resist variegated cotton yarn. I must say I love the yarn and the colors. Now I just need to get motivated to cast on. Probably the best thing to do is to not store it in a stash box at all and use it soon.

3. Yarn in the mailbox #3. I got a swap parcel from TriGirlJ on Ravelry. Not only did she sent me some more cotton yarn, but also stationary and yummy vegan chocolate. The yarn is sitting in my stash right now. The chocolate is all gone... Greedy, me?
